Last summer’s successes, the Spruce Street Harbor Park and RiverRink Summerfest, are returning to Delaware River Waterfront with lots of good eats.

The free, pop-up park in Penn’s Landing, which returns on May 22, will again offer food from the Garces Group, as well as other local restaurateurs.

The new boardwalk location of Federal Donuts, called PortFedNuts, will be serving a Fried Chicken Sandwich, “made with buttermilk ranch seasoning, American cheese, dill pickles and Red Hot mayo all on a Martin’s potato roll,” according to Uwishunu. PortFedNuts will also offer cold brew iced coffee, and a “bag-O-donuts” (six mini cinnamon sugar donuts).

Franklin Fountain and Shane Confectionery of Old City are new to the park this year.The S.S. Franklin, which will resemble an old naval ship, will serve a variety of ice creams flavors and cones, as well as a waffle ice cream sandwich and “The Mighty Warship”, a waffle boat sundae. Shane Confectionery will offer popcorn, cotton candy, chocolates, salt water taffy and fudge.

The Garces Group will return to the popular location with four options. The Village Burger will once again be served at the Lodge at the RiverRink, as well as burger specials, veggie burgers and fries. On the boardwalk, Garces Group will offer Chicago-style hot dogs, sausages, sauerkraut and lager fondue-topped fries. The Distrito Taco Truck will serving street tacos on the weekend.

Jose Garces’ Center City Peruvian-Chinese fusion restaurant Chifa, that closed in 2013, will be revived at the park this year. Guest can enjoy pork belly bao buns, garlic-ginger chicken wings and glazed pork ribs.
